Yes your mileage will go down a lot depending on how much boost you run. . . induction kit in other words a turbo kit will push more air to your engine in other words it will need more gas so they can mix and burn which will give you horsepower. . . so yes you’re putting more air and you need more fuel hope you upgraded your fuel system as well (pump, injectors, tunning system, msd, etc) if you only run turbo with no increase in gas your engine overheats and boom. . . . also if too much gas and little air. . . . boom lolz. its all about the tunning.
now for your intercooler. . . . yes you will need it not only it will give you more horsepower but it will keep your engine temperature cool because a turbo without an intercooler is just asking to blow itself up. . . . if you dont have an intercooler ready to install dont install the turbo kit.
as for the mileage. . . . well yea you’re gonna spend quite a bit of money depending how much boost you put on that turbo. . . . . as long as you dont hit boost you will still get the same mileage you have right now, but since you will be having a turbo you’re going to always put the most expensive gas which is premium. . .
I run over 20lbs of boost and when i hit boost my gas meter goes down like crazy after every race in the dragstrip.
so here’s a resume for you on your questions. . .
MPG go down? yes a lot under boost
Also have to put an intercooler? yes and dont trust people saying you dont need one because you do!!!
good luck

Yes, forced induction, such as a turbo will decrease your fuel consumption if you drive it slowly; but will lower the mpg if you drive fast.
If you’re after raising your mpg, get a low pressure turbo.
Performance wise, get a high pressure turbo and a sequential blow off valve is best.

I’d also add a blow-off valve to release that extra pressure, which will also deteriorate the turbo over time

I think our colonial cousins are getting a bit confused about induction kits. Yes you may need an intercooler but only if the engine is turbo / supercharged. No, if you fit one of the aftermarket ones for a ‘normally’ aspirated engine. You may get an increase in fuel consumption with the ‘free flow’ induction kit if you regularly ‘give it some welly’ ( like thats not going to happen)! But at normal speeds you may find a bit extra fuel economy due to the better breathing. But what you may find is that the engine will run like a pig without further modding – re-mapping
